Petticoats

2008 was the year of my 40th birthday, and I resolved to make the celebrations (..?!) last all year. I also started wearing tutus.. quite a lot, and not just for special occasions. This painting celebrates all things frilly.. and I used the insides of envelopes sent in the 50's to create a retro feel to the petticoats.. and reminisce about the time when these garments were worn every day. This is the first of a series of paintings I am sure..
